#40bagsin40days Challenge Update

#40bagsin40days is tough guys. I had complete confidence in myself to do one task/day and if I’d skipped a day or two I’d easily pick up the slack a few days later. This did not happen. I’ve taken two large breaks so far and with Soph’s broken toes and immobilization, this week isn’t looking good either. Thankfully, next week is Jeffrey’s vacation so I’m hopping to be a crazy whirlwind cleaning twister lady and getting caught up on my list.

Not to say that my efforts are to be scoffed at. So far I’ve tackled:

  • Office/Craft closet
  • Sophie’s clothes
  • Photo organization on my computer
  • Sophie’s closet
  • Linen closet
  • Master bedroom closet
  • Emptied under bed area
  • File cabinet
  • Master bathroom cabinets
  • Cataloged half the bookcase
  • Finished our will
  • Prepped flowerbed
  • Master bedroom dressers
  • Garage shelving
  • Kitchen pantry

Total bags of trash: 3 Total bags for donation: 14

I’ll give myself a small pat on the back but in reality there’s more than 12 days worth of projects that I want to get done to feel confident in completing my challenge. Hopefully between the garage sale this past summer and this project, we’ll do better about what we bring in and not have to do the #40bagsin40days challenge next year. What about you guys? Are you gearing up for spring cleaning or have you done the #40bagsin40days challenge? Also, no, I still haven’t finished The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing.

  1. Hey, life happens and poor Sophie, life sucks! Poor girl. I want to hug and kiss her! You accomplished A LOT! I finally sorted through all the kid’s art I was saving & put in into folder. I will incorporate O’s into her baby book, but I’m not sure what to do with all of J’s. Another PL book?

    • She’s been such a tough bird! I’m so proud of how she’s dealing with her injury!! AWESOME job on getting art sorted and saved! I’ll bet that can get out of hand fast and it’s hard to know what to save because you want to save it all!! I’ll send you a few pins of some ‘kid art’ displays that I’ve seen, although an album would be really cute too!!
