Bigger Person

My husband told me something that he was told as a kid and has always stuck with him. Be the bigger person. This is very hard for me as an ESFJ! It’s difficult for me to have any type of conflict or confrontation with people and once I do I’d rather write them off than try to work through our problems or be the bigger person. I let conflict eat away at me until I’m sick so I’ve been running my husband’s suggestion through my head to keep myself on the right path.

Woman

-Virginia Woolf

It’s sad, but true. Women are still being overshadowed by men, and probably always will be within my lifetime. There have been some great discoveries by women that have been integral in today’s society. Some of the inventions I’m thankful for: dishwashers, windshield wipers, Kevlar, disposable diapers, rotary engines, the syringe and white out! Until the late 1800’s women in America were not allowed to have a patent under their own name. Thankfully, in America, women are now able to be recognized for their accomplishments. Women rock and I’m proud to be a woman!

-Theodore Roosevelt

Every person in the world can benefit from Teddy’s words. As a new mom, this is something I struggle with often. I have to remind myself of these words when it comes to what stage my baby ‘should’ be at throughout her life. She is perfect to us and we have SO much pleasure and joy from her being a part of our lives. There’s no point in comparing…in any situation.

Tomorrow

tomorrow

I’ve really been working on focusing on myself and my family lately. Not worrying. Not scheduling. Not stressing. It’s definitely a work in progress for me but it’s going well. I am trying to streamline my planning but not be wrapped up in the fact that things don’t always go according to said plan. I wrote a post yesterday regarding unplugging from social medias to be in the present. I think this has already helped me see the beauty and happiness in everyday life…not having my nose glued to a screen. Next step is routinely meditating in hopes to not have stress headaches. So far today, no headache! What do you guys do to ‘Let tomorrow worry about itself’? Any tips on streamlining your planning? I have a feeling this is a life-long project but I’m willing to keep working on it!
