Floral Letter Sign

Hello friends and happy Monday! I hope you had a lovely weekend and are ready to conquer the week ahead. I’ve been wanting to make something sweet for Sophie’s door for a while and saw this beautiful floral letter from Hello Charlotte James Etsy store on Pinterest that I knew I had to make!

Since spring is on it’s way, this floral craft really brightened my day. While Jeffrey took Soph to the grocery I put this simple craft together so it would be up on her door when she got home. She got a huge smile on her face and loved touching all the flowers. I made sure they were super secure so she could touch them as much as she wanted.

Materials needed:

• Letter form (I used a pre-made MDF cut out from the hobby store but you could easily make a stencil out of cardboard)
• Silk flowers
• Wire cutters
• Hot glue gun
• Bakers twine (yarn, ribbon or any other string will do)

1. Start by laying out the general idea of where you want the flowers. I started with the largest flowers and filled in with the smaller flowers.
2. Trim the stems if necessary. Be careful to not cut too close to the base of the flower. Some of my flowers were held together with the stem so once I cut it, all the layers fell apart.
3. Once all the flowers are glued, pick the letter up and shake it and rustle the flowers to make sure they’re secured well to the letter form.
4. Hot glue a string to the back for hanging. I’ve also seen where people leave a long ribbon with bow for hanging, which is super cute.

To be honest, this craft was extremely quick and simple but not cheap. Nice looking silk flowers are expensive. I got mine at 50% off and still spent a pretty penny (I’m not sure the exact amount as I purchased flowers for another project as well. The total for all flowers was close to $70?!) The good thing about this project is that it will last a long time and you can buy less expensive flowers and make your letter form to save money.

I also thought this would be cute as a spring decoration in the future if she didn’t want it in her room. It would be cute to spell out a word and use it in a craft room or as a party decoration. What do you think? Worth the money if made with cheaper materials? I’m still super happy about my quick and easy craft and the fact that I got a full craft done in one day!
