November Goals

november goalsHappy November! I know, it’s been November for a couple days, we’ve even changed the clocks already to fall back, but I’m just getting around to my November goals. This weekend was a whirlwind, literally, with the crazy weather we had here in IL.
We were able to Trick or Treat at a few houses, then came back to share chili with some friends. We also got the house childproofed (more on that later)! We took it easy though, knowing the next few months ahead are pretty crazy with travel, by playing a few board games and watching some new movies.
IMG_6960Let’s see how I did for my October goals. I did fairly well with accomplishing my October goals, in my opinion! This was a huge month for our family. Sophie had her first Birthday, complete with awesome Sprinkle & Confetti party, she started walking, we had a vacation where we went to Medieval Times and watched our 90 year old Grandma fly a plane! I really focused on being present and putting my family first in regards to managing my time. If there was a choice between cleaning up the kitchen, writing a post or just playing chase with Soph and Jeffrey, I chose my family every time. I’m pretty sure the kitchen was never fully clean the entire month of October, but I’m ok with that.

I took Soph to every Babies Love Books but one, because she was still snoozing (you never wake a sleeping baby!) I found a couple people that volunteered to watch Sophie but I’d still like to have an emergency sitter on hand. We also did TERRIBLE at family walks. We took once/week which was 90% due to the cold weather, rain or it being dark by the time Jeffrey got home. I swam 2-3 times/week, read Eleanor & Park (not as good as Fangirl in my opinion) and did not do laundry on the weekends! My biggest disappointment of goal achieving this month was finishing Blog Life, but I worked on it a lot and it’s freaking huge (which is a good thing!) I did, however, make three new pinnable images and revamped 20 Date Ideas and Nail Polish Organization!
pinnable-imagesNow for the good stuff! My November goals are going to be more manageable since there are a lot of things already planned for this month.

What are your goals for this month? Will you be taking it a bit easy on yourself knowing the madness that is to come, paired with cold/rainy weather and possible sickness? I encourage you to make at least 3 goals for this month that can be measured. It really does help me to stay focused on what I want to accomplish, helping my mind stay on track. I’ll leave you with the best photo taken this month:

  1. I have so many goals and feel like I need to hurry up even more so now that we found out we are going to have another baby, but at the same time I realize I should probably slow down a bit and take it easy on myself. My goals update should be coming later this week!

    • eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!! Ana! Congratulations to your family!! My vote is to prioritize to see what’s most important and go from there. No need to wear yourself out and have your pregnancy be full of stress. It’s not good for the baby!

    • I already feel that way Sarah! This past month it’s been pretty gross and we haven’t been able to have our afternoon outside play time. I’ve already been forming plans of places we can go once winter comes. ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s tough finding them though! Where are some places you’ve taken your kids when they were little?

    • It’s been helpful for me so far Marybeth! Anytime I’m not set on what I’m going to do during my ‘blogging time’ or ‘free time’ at night, I’ll check my goals to see what’s important for this month! ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. First, why are you leaving me hanging with the childproofing? Is it for Sophie? Another baby? WHAT??!?!?! (calming down in 3, 2, 1โ€ฆ) Coincidentally, we had chili with friends before trick-or-treating. A good meal to feed a crowd! I love the 3 posts that you revamped with new images. They make a big impact! (But they aren’t on the original post? They’re updated on Pinterest but not the post? Please educate me! Also, I noticed the images are vertical to maximize exposure on Pinterest, nice.). Hopefully you reach 1000 followers! I’ll say that I’m horrible at making goals. I’m just trying to make it day by day.

    • HAH! Don’t get excited, it’s for Sophie who’s just now getting curious about taking everything out of drawers/cupboards. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I think chili is going to be a Halloween tradition for us! One less thing to worry about for the fun night! They’re NOT on the original posts and I’ll send you an email on that! I’ve learned to only put 3 things on my MUST DO list (as big or small as I want) and have a running list for everything else. That way I feel accomplished if I even get two of my MUST DO things crossed off!

  3. Great goals!

You will LOVE the couch date thing! We have ours on Monday nights and it is just so lovely to know there is nothing else that has to be “done” except be on the couch and fully present with my husband.

    Great month!
