Page Turners Book Selection: April

Hi friends! We’re so happy to announce our book selection for April! We wanted to give you plenty of time to get your hands on a copy. So, without further ado, our book selection for April is:

The Martian Page Turners Book Club

The Martian by Andy Weir

It’s about the intense journey astronaut Mark Watney endures while trying to survive as the first man on Mars. Using his engineering skills he relentlessly tries to get off the planet. Will he survive?

I’ve never read a book like this. Ever. My husband, dad, sister and brother-in-law all read it (which is uncommon for them to all read the same book) and loved it. When I saw it was on Lisa’s reading list, I wanted to step out of my norm to check out a new genre for myself.

We’re so happy with the turn out so far with all of you who have joined in reading along with our book selections! Don’t forget, we’ll be discussing Wonder
on March 27th. Lisa and I will have separate questions on each of our blogs so you can participate in either or both discussions.

PS. If you haven’t started Wonder, I highly recommend it for everyone. I gave it a 5/5 review and believe it has a beautiful message for all to apply.

All opinions of the books I review are my own. If you choose to purchase a book through the links I’ve provided, I will earn a few cents per purchase.

  1. I’ve heard that’s really good — like “Hatchet” for grownups! =) I wish I could read as fast as you girls!

    • Wonder was a SUPER fast read because it was for children. 😉 We try to mix it up with the types and lengths of books so more people can join in! The Martian is a bit longer though BUT you have a month and a half to read it! 😉

    • The links are fixed Amy! I would let you borrow my copy of Wonder but I borrowed it. It is a MUST read to Fiona once she starts reading chapter books! Like seriously, don’t forget. 😉
