The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

I’ve read this book and loved it. Loved the movie (especially since Hermoine plays Sam in the movie). In fact, I loved it so much that I’ve been wanting to read it again and thought book club would be the perfect time. Jeff O’Neal (Book Riot Podcast) recommended this on the recent Moms, Dads, and Grads Recommendation Show to someone looking for a good YA book.

Hope you’ll join us! And don’t forget, weโ€™ll be discussing Ready Player One: A Novel
on July 3.

  1. Perks Of Being A Wallflower is still one of my favorite books. It’s also one of the best movie adapatations I’ve ever seen, and I think that’s because the author was so involved in creating it. And the soundtrack is amazing!

    • The movie adaptation was amazing. I wasn’t dissapointed at all. I’m also a huge fan of the soundtrack which probably helped me like the movie so much. ๐Ÿ™‚ (And Hermoine) ๐Ÿ˜‰ Let us know your thoughts on the book when we discuss it at the end of the month!

  2. LOL! This is one that I don’t have to borrow from the library! As soon as I read the title, I texted my oldest son and asked to borrow his copy! ๐Ÿ™‚ I just started Ready Player One…so far so good! Have a great week, Shelly!

    • YES Stacey! Did your son like the book? That will be cool to talk to him about it! I’m excited to read it again and then watch the movie again! Hope your week is going well. ๐Ÿ™‚

      • LOL! Oh my son loved it and loved the movie, he has both! He has an extensive book collection…mine is only bigger because I have a 20 year head start! He also told me that I need to read Gone Girl, too! LOL! He is so much like me! Getting ready to take lil man to camp this week…and lookin forward to a date day with the oldest sometime next week! YAY! We will go thrift shopping and do lunch and it is always so much fun! Have a great weekend!

        • OMG! Gone Girl?! I can’t even read that yet! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I’m a big baby. Camp will be fun for your little guy and having date day with your oldest will be amazing! Actually, I think these events have passed as it’s Friday. How did everything go?!
