We have a four year old daughter. That means our home is filled with dress up, wings, crowns, dresses and lots of pink and purple. When we’d heard about the new Fairy Gardens exhibit going on at the Indianapolis Zoo Hilbert Conservatory we strapped on our wings to head over.
The Hilbert Conservatory is one of my favorite places to visit while at the zoo. I love the fresh smell of all the plants and getting inspiration of plants to grow in my home. The fairy gardens were charming. The small details with natural elements were my favorite and have inspired me to create one this summer in our garden. These wonderful gardens were built by the Horticulture Team under curator Scott Sullivan.
Fairy Gardens at the Indianapolis Zoo
‘Prepare to be delighted by the wonder of the Fairy Garden you will discover now in the Hilbert Conservatory in the White River Gardens! A magical landscape of miniature orchids, succulents and tropicals is filled with a hand-made fairy village. There are so many amazing details and hidden treasures that you’ll always see something new, no matter how many times you visit!’- Indianapolis Zoo
There is no listed date that the gardens will be taken down but mid-March is the projected time period so be sure to get out there soon! Right now the conservatory is free to enter without zoo admission (there is a fee for parking at the zoo.)

we should grow some bird house gourds this year and decorate them!
