Hello friends! Today is an exciting day for me because I’m finally posting a house tour! I have wanted to take photos of my home forever but always had an excuse (too messy, too busy, not a good enough photographer etc).
I will always have these excuses but wanted this moment in my life documented exactly as it is.
Mid projects and mid life. I didn’t buy beautiful flowers or fruit to stage my home. I didn’t even dust (shh.) I picked up a bit and will later show you the ‘5 minutes before the shoot photos’ but other than that, this is what our home looks like. Lived in.
This will be a photo heavy post. Would you like a coffee? We also have martinis. Perhaps I could concoct a mocha martini of sorts? Since you are my friend, and not a solicitor or boy scout, I’ll bring you in through the garage which leads into our laundry room.
Thanks for stopping by! Let me know if you want to know where I got products or how we DIY’d projects. I’d be happy to share!

Wow wow wow. Your house is AMAZING. That photo wall!!!! I would seriously pay you to come decorate my house. I have a phobia of hanging things on the walls.
Shelly says
Thank you Sarah! That photo wall took me at least 6 months! There was probably one full month where it was just newspaper templates on the wall! I now have a phobia of having bare walls and have so much art but no walls to put it on! *art hoarder*

Your house is amazing!!! Please come decorate mine. It’s horrendous and I lack all the necessary skills to make it not so.
Shelly says
Haha! Awe! It takes a LONG time to make a home decorated. I have a ‘For The Home‘ board on Pinterest that I use to keep ideas and when I want to switch something up, I look there for inspiration. I used to watch lot of HGTV before we had a home to decorate too so that helps learn how to style!

So many good things to say about your lovely home, Shelly! I love that you have art work & plants in the laundry room. Love that soft mint color. And look, your DIY growth chart! I love the yellow wall in the coat room. Is that wallpaper? I love the striped entry rug. Great artwork and look, DIY playboard for Sophie! Your kitchen is so great. I love the backsplash and dark cabinets/chairs. Did you DIY the ombre planks on the wall too?
Shelly says
Thank you Lisa! The plants are only in there in the winter (those are our deck plants) because I always forget to water plants out there! The yellow wall is paintable wallpaper! It’s a textured white wallpaper that you can paint whatever color you’d like. I’m glad you like the back splash too! That and the ombre planks (an old set of stairs from our back yard) were DIYs. ๐

I love the blues and greys on your walls. And it’s clean! I haven’t done a house tour for the same reasons – it’s never clean enough or quite finished. But yours definitely looks clean and beautiful!
Shelly says
Thank you Gracielle! I feel it’s not clean enough or fully decorated but I think I’ll always feel that way about my home so I just had to take the plunge! I wish you would!
