Relaxation IN Anxiety OUT

anxiety

I have a new mantra for when I’m breathing and trying to calm down. I picture relaxation coming in through the new air I’m breathing in and anxiety going out with my used air. Sometimes just doing this for a few minutes can really help re-focus what’s important. It helps me not get so frustrated when Sophie is throwing the third meal I’ve made her on the floor or when Lexi won’t stop wining to go outside, even though she won’t step foot outside. There’s no room in our minds or bodies for anxiety. Just breathe it out.

  1. Hang in there. Those early years with the kiddos can be so hard on a mama. I never knew I could get so angry! (Not with a baby — but 3 nearly did me in.) Having friends in the same boat really helps. If you are ever getting super stressed out and need someone to talk to who’s been there, shoot me an email or a text. Seriously!

    • Thank you Sarah. You’re so kind. Some days I’m like ‘just chill out and stop worrying about it’ but some days I just can’t hear that part of myself so breathing and taking a step out to meditate has really been helping me stay calm and have happier days. ๐Ÿ™‚ Although I don’t have kids your age, you can always talk to me too!

  2. I am enjoying every moment of my life. That’s my vision for this year and yes, it really helps to relax and thus I pray that those who are suffering from extreme anxiety would feel relaxed too and at least be able to have a fix to what they are experiencing. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • HAH! That is a key time of when to use breathing to our advantage! Can you even remember a time when you walked in the door and it was quiet? ๐Ÿ˜‰ For us it’s dog barks, wakes up Sophie, she cries…so pretty similar. ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. I need to work on taking a deep breath during our meltdowns. Now that I have 3 babies I’m sure I can count on 3 times the meltdowns! Great idea to add mantra to those breathing exercises..I might borrow yours until I come up with my own ๐Ÿ™‚

    • I’m thinking, perhaps, three times the time it takes to calm down too! ๐Ÿ™‚ I hope the breathing and mantra help you out until you can find your own. My last one was ‘thank you, i love you’ which I really liked but couldn’t sync it to my breath perfectly. I think it’s super sweet though and full of grace.

  4. Love the graphic! I have a similar mantra when trying to go to sleep. I always pictures those cartoons where someone has rescued a drowning person and they keep saying “in with the good air, out with the bad.”
